Oilseeds update: current estimates for the sesame seed crop

FRANKFURT. Monitoring of the oilseed sector with day-to-day price comparisons.

The Indian Oilseeds and Produce Export Promotion Council (IOPEPC) estimates the new sesame seed crop at a total of 439,075 mt, which would be a slight increase over last year. Some market players are not that optimistic, however, and expect a lower production result. "Even if the crop result is as low as 300,000 tons, arrival should be sufficient for now, but they are not", a trader announced.

While some Indian sesame seed traders are currently not bidding for customers in the EU due to the ethylene oxide problem, the price indications of other traders vary between US
