NEW DELHI/BRASÍLIA. Low quality has caused peanut prices to differ by up to 30% in Brazil. Kharif sowing has seen an impressive rise in India.

Farmers opt for peanuts

In Gujarat, the main producing state for peanuts and cotton, farmes have increasingly switched to the first in the Kharif season. Issue being last year's substantial decline in cotton prices. Peanut sowing typically takes place in June and July and harvesting in October and November. Despite the monsoon rains ranging slightly below average, yields are expected to be good this year.
