AMSTERDAM. Aldebaran Commodities have recently highlighted the uncertainties regarding the US and Mexican crops. In South Africa, the outlook is, however, more encouraging for pecans. Supplies are tight in Europe.

Uncertainty in USA and Mexico

While reports have emerged stating that the damage caused by Hurricane Helene may not be quite as bad as expected in the leading producing state of Georgia, traders currently rather reckon that new bearing acres will not be able to compensate for the damage caused to mature trees. Opinion still is that this year’s crop will range around 6% lower than last year.
