PEKING. Chinese exporters continue to lack raw materials. Market players currently reckon that bottlenecks will continue to occur in the coming weeks and...

... do not expect to be able to process new orders until April/May. At present there are no offers at all. At least the logistical problems are gradually being solved and the transports to the ports are running more smoothly.

Imports decrease by 26%

In 2019, a total of 4,420 metric tonnes of pine nuts* were imported into Germany, which is a good quarter less than last year. Due to the high prices for shipments from China and Russia, the import value of EUR 101.03 million was nevertheless significantly higher than last year (EUR 94 million). The crop slump caused deliveries from China to decline by 26% to 3,674 metric tonnes compared to 2018. In 2017, imports were still at 5,406 metric tonnes. According to data from the Federal Statistical Office of Germany, imports from Russia have remained relatively constant at 254-295 metric tonnes per year over the past three years.
