GAZIANTEP. Due to a lack of rainfall and insufficient irrigation, the Turkish pistachio crop could turn out smaller than initially expected. Exports are also falling well short of expectations.

Domestic demand supports prices

The market for Turkish pistachios is currently showing stable to firm price trends at a relatively high level, with no major changes compared to last month. For the new crop, farmers and exporters do not expect any significant increase in production despite this being an “on-year” in the biennial crop rotation.
