Dried apricots: situation takes market by surprise

MALATYA. The current situation is highly irritating for the market players in Turkey. Exporters are surprised at the conduct of their customers. In addition, the prices are developing in an unexpected direction.

Sluggish market

The market for dried apricots has come to a rather unexpected standstill. There are hardly any enquiries and the suppliers are currently only loading existing contracts. Normally, the market would be bustling with activities in the run up to Christmas and New Year. Activities are instead as subdued as at the end of June. This unusual situation, however, comes as a surprise to the exporters.
