Pecans: 14% decline in US exports

ATLANTA. Although US pecan exports are down, China has drastically stepped up purchases. Prices continue to fall.

Corona causes export decline

Export data recenty issued by the  American Pecan Council shows that US exports for 2019/2020 are 14% down on 2018/2019. Shipments have most notably declined in South America. Asia is the only destination that defies the trend as shipments range 15% higher than last. This is mainly because China, the main export destination for US pecans, has drastically stepped up imports by 218%. Shipments are also 5% up in Canada, which ranks second (7,314 mt).
