Pine nuts: no export licences for Mongolian raw nuts

BEIJING/ULAANBAATAR. The procurement of raw materials is still a problem for Chinese pine nut exporters. Despite the good crop forecasts, there is a lack of raw nuts, especially Pinus sibirica.

Russia expects 10,000 mt of Pinus sibirica nuts

According to the International Dried Fruit and Nuts Council (INC), the Chinese Chamber of Commerce expects a production of 42,000 mt of Pinus koraiensis in the 2020/2021 season (+190% year-on-year), and North Korea's crop is expected to rise to 35,000 mt (+192%). In Russia, too, production is expected to increase to 35,000-40,000 mt, of which 10,000 mt will be accounted for by the Pinus sibirica variety.
