MADRID/SACRAMENTO. With prices persistently following the same trend for weeks and even organic almonds trading lower the market is starting to wonder when prices will hit rock bottom

Supply and demand spell bad news for suppliers

The market has few new impulses to offer. Arrivals from California are flooding Europe, while production is also up in Spain. On top of this, Christmas trading is leaving much to be desired. Spot market prices have largely stabilised in Europe. Some suppliers are, however, offering lower prices. Blanched Valencia almonds, 12/14 are trading in a range of EUR 4.50-4.65/kg FCA Spain and blanched California SSR almonds 23/25 around EUR 0.10/kg lower at EUR 4.75/kg FCA Spain.
