AYDIN. The fig trees in Turkey are benefitting from recent rain. Good demand is also having an impact on export prices.

TMO cannot sell supplies

Contrary to expectations, the TMO has not purchased any dried figs this season so far. At the same time, the state-run organisation has failed to transfer supplies purchased in 2019/2020 back into the market. This is giving rise to doubts over quality as such a long storage time has an adverse impact on the fruits, which will no longer be able to meet EU standards.
