Brazil nuts: production increases expected for 2020/21

SUCRE/LIMA. At the end of last year, the INC hat expected the Brazil nut production to decline in the 2020/21 season. These estimates have since been revised. Brazil in particular can report significant increases in production.

2020 - a challenge at all levels

The year 2020 has been hard on the Brazil nut industry. Again and again, production had to be interrupted in the factories, partly due to the strict hygiene measures, which were not always easy to comply with, and partly due to the lack of workers when employees were affected by Covid-19 infections. In addition, export prices had reached a record low, which created further difficulties for many market players.
