MALATYA. Due to Ramadan, demand on the apricot market has dropped massively in recent weeks. However, things look promising for the new crop.

End of Ramadan is imminent

Turkish market players report that demand has dropped significantly in the last two weeks and is now almost zero. Exporters are currently still working off their existing orders. Ramadan ends on Wednesday with the Great Eid, so there will be little movement in trade this week. However, producers expect the demand situation to improve soon. Currently, both commodity and export prices are holding steady at last week's level, with died apricots, no 2 at USD 3,850/mt FOB Mersin.
