DALIAN. Suppliers are despairing in China. It is next to impossible to sell their products and they are running out of ideas to attract buyers.

Suppliers have resorted to desperate measures in attracting buyers. But to no avail. Demand continues to be low and prices are tumbling. Even before the Chinese New Year celebrations some traders predicted that prices may drop by yet another 200-300 USD/mt.

Sowing will have an impact

Sowing is about to commence in a few weeks’ time, which could change the current market situation. It is expected that the limited demand and low prices should prompt many farmers to sow other commodities instead. And a smaller production could cause prices to rise again next season.
