Pumpkin seeds: bleak prospects for the organic market

DALIAN. While a good crop of conventional shine skins is expected this year, floods have led to crop losses in organic fields. Organic GWS kernels are also hardly available in the new season.

Predictions for this year's pumpkin seed crop in China are becoming more concrete and are largely in line with previous estimates. The northwest of the country is most important for the harvest of conventional shine skins, and very good results are expected here. The 30% larger acreage and good weather conditions have ensured that an estimated 180,000-200,000 mt can be harvested.
