DALIAN. Good demand is partly to blame for the prices for GWS and shine skin kernels rising sharply in China. More and more buyers want organic pumpkin kernels.

Domestic market reawakens

Prices have risen slowly as buyers have become more active in China again. Demand for roasted kernels is particularly high since many simply did not buy enough stocks before Chinese New Year, which was celebrated at the start of February. Demand should remain high until the end of the month and traders need to stock up. Suppliers also require additional stocks to meet contracts. The prices for A grade shine skin kernels have climbed to USD 4,600/mt CFR EMP.
