Pumpkin seeds: more GWS kernels next season

BEIJING. While less Shine Skins were havested in China last year than GWS kernels, the tables are set to turn this year. Prices for GWS kernels were up and supplies limited in 2020/2021. Now the prices are about to change.

Enough Skine Skins available

Trading is still largely subdued in the pumpkin seed market at present. Farmgate prices range at CNY 15.5-16.0/kg. While abundant Shine Skine supplies are available, the situation is different for GWS kernels. Supplies are very much limited here. Harvesting in northwestern China will start at the end of August and will continue through to September in all parts of the country.
