DALIAN. Most factories in China are already closed and by the end of the week at the very latest the traders too will be on holiday. What can we expect from the market after that?

Prices will remain stable until March
The market for pumpkin seeds is not likely to come to life again before the second week of February and traders have already announced that prices will remain stable during this time.
Shipments in February/March should be available at the very low prices for which they are currently sold but offers may vary depending on the supplier.

Pumpkin seeds unprofitable?
As long as there is no sudden increase in demand after the holidays major price leaps cannot be expected. Spring will become interesting when farmers prepare sowing for the production of 2017. Due to the low prices it may be expected that they will opt for a few hectares less of pumpkins to plant more profitable crops such as corn and sunflower seeds.
