DALIAN. Demand on the pumpkin seed market remains weak, but suppliers are hoping that the Chinese New Year in February will breathe life into the market. Meanwhile, growers have disposed of a large proportion of their stocks.

Is Chinese New Year the rescue?

As demand on the Chinese pumpkin seed market remains weak both domestically and overseas, commodity prices have fallen compared to last week, while export prices have shown only very slight nominal changes. As it has become much colder in the growing regions, most growers have disposed of their stocks and sold them to traders or speculators.
