BEIJING. Goods from the old crop are moving further and further into the background, while the approaching of the new crop simultaneously causes price corrections.

Old crop no longer attractive

Spot offers in the Chinese export market remain at the level of the past weeks. Pumpkin seeds, GWS, Grade A are available from USD 2.55 per kg CFR Hamburg, for Shine Skins, Grade A buyers have to expect a minimum price of USD 2.64 per kg CFR Hamburg. Due to the current situation and the holiday season, the interest in prompt shipments is very limited. In addition, the new crop will be available on the market in about two months.

Rainfall so far without consequences

The new season officially starts in September and the first shipments from the 2020 crop are dated to the end of September and beginning of October. It is estimated that the sometimes heavy rainfall has not caused any significant damage to the plants in Xinjiang, and a good crop can still be expected. In the hope that buying interest will soon improve again, exporters have once again reduced their offer prices for the new crop compared to last week.
