DALIAN. The Chinese pumpkin seed market lacks a driving force that could stabilise prices at the higher level of the last few weeks. The first price trends for the 2019 crop have also been observed.

New crop and old prices
The prices for the remaining stocks from the 2018 crop have declined again nominally over the last few days after the lack of raw seeds had driven up prices. GWS kernels, Grade A are trading on a similar level as last year. Shine Skins are arout 100 USD/mt more expensive than last year.

The new crop will not arrive in Europe until November/December, the first price indications, however, already exist. Traders in Europe are offering Shine Skins, Grade A from 2.53 USD/kg DDP Germany. Organic Shine Skins, Grade A are trading for 2.90 USD/kg
