BEIJING. A lack of buying interest and speculative raw material purchases dominate the trading activity in the Chinese pumpkin seed market. The offers of different exporters can differ by several hundred dollars per ton.

Like many other markets, the Chinese pumpkin seed market is feeling the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. Demand is lower than usual at this time of year. According to market players, however, the reduced supply of GWS kernels is the reason to keep prices as stable as possible, while export prices for shine skins are declining in order to stimulate buying interest.
