DALIAN. The warehouses of Chinese pumpkin seed traders are almost empty and to fulfil their orders, they have to buy expensive raw materials from speculators. Meanwhile, the critical situation in the Red Sea is causing delays in shipments and high freight costs.

According to local market players, farmers have already sold a large part of their stocks and most of the goods are now in the hands of speculators.
