Raisins: 30% hike in exports

TEHRAN. Iran shipped more than 62,000 mt of raisins overseas between the end of March and end of September. This is more than 30% up on the same period last year not only on terms of volume but also in terms of value. Supply is, however, an issue at present.

Rial boosts exports

Iran exported a total of 62,351 mt of raisins worth USD 80.222 million between 21 March and 22 September. This is 31% up on the 47,682 mt worth USD 61.454 million exported in the same period last year. While prices ranged higher than last year in the domestic market in these six months, the opposite was the case in the export market. Issue is that the depreciation of the Iranian rial by 30-35% encouraged producers and traders to export all kinds of raisins.
