Raisins: notable shift in prices

TEHRAN. Green raisins are one of the most expensive varieties exported from Iran. Prices range as much as 25% higher than for other popular varieties. The market has experienced notable fluctuations in price over the last few weeks.

Prices start to decline

Although Iran mainly exports sultanas and golden raisin and green raisins only rank third in terms of export volume and value, the high quality of this variety means that higher prices can be achieved. In April 2018-April 2019 the average export prices for green raisins ranged at USD 1.69 per kg, which is 35% higher than for other varieties. Total revenues for this variety ranged at USD 12.138 million last year.
