Sesame seeds: Europe groans under recalls

NEW DELHI. The product recall of ethylene oxide contaminated sesame seed batches from a Belgian supplier has far-reaching consequences. Around 20 countries are affected by the recall.

Not to be used as animal feed

The supplier has informed his customers by e-mail whether goods delivered to them are affected by the recall and how to proceed further. The batches and food already in circulation are being recalled. It was also emphasized that the contaminated sesame seeds must not be "disposed of" as animal feed under any circumstances.
