NEW DELHI. Indian traders were very successful the last sesame seed tender. Smaller positions from the new crop are already said to be available in the Indian market, but the bulk is not expected before May.

India can completely win tender

A fortnight ago, South Korea announced its intention to purchase a further 12,000 mt of sesame seeds through a new tender. This tender took place recently and seems to have given Indian exporters pleasing results. According to the documents available, Indian companies were able to win the entirety of the three tendered positions. The suppliers were awarded the contracts at prices between USD 1,579/mt and USD 1,664/mt.
