NEW DELHI. Competitive pressure and lack of demand are taking their toll on Indian sesame seed prices. However, this increases the chances of exporters to successfully participate in the upcoming tender.

Prices come under pressure

As temperatures rise, seller demand for products such as sesame seeds and sesame oil traditionally declines in the Indian market. Accordingly, there is little interest in buying from the domestic industry, and at the same time no new goods are arriving on the trade markets. On the international market, unhulled sesame seeds from India are currently not able to hold their own either.
