NEW DELHI. A new sesame seed tender from South Korea has been announced and, as usual, Indian traders are hoping for good chances of success. However, Indian shipments to the EU have declined significantly.

Quality leaves much to be desired

After the Diwali festival, the Indian sesame seed market needed a few days to regain momentum and prices again trended downwards this week. At the same time, a new sesame seed tender from South Korea was announced, which is expected to amount to 6,600 mt. Market players are now anxiously watching what effect the upcoming tender will have on the Indian sesame seed market or whether suppliers from African origins or even Pakistan will come out ahead.
