Sesame seeds: market is on pins and needles

NEW DELHI. The current sesame seed tender has not yet been announced, so Indian traders are holding on to their goods. However, demand is generally limited.

Tender expected next week

There is hardly any trading activity in the Indian sesame seed market at the moment. After the January tender from South Korea was postponed, traders are holding on to their goods in order to be able to offer them for sale. At the same time, however, there is hardly any other demand, neither from the domestic market nor from overseas. Currently, market players reckon that South Korea will announce the tender official in the coming week. A volume of about 10,000-12,000 mt is expected.
