NEW DELHI. Indian sesame seed traders expect serious competition in the upcoming tender. Meanwhile, demand from domestic hullers is likely cause firmer prices.

The competition does not sleep

In the Indian market, sesame seed prices have again increased slightly. However, the tender from South Korea announced for next week is only one reason for this development. Good domestic demand from hullers is also supporting prices. Indian exporters were able to secure the entirety of the last tender, but this time it looks different. Pakistan is a serious competitor and with a production result of 200,000 mt compared to 125,000 mt last year, the country could secure an estimated 50% of the 12,000 mt tendered. As shipments
