NEW DELHI/SEOUL. After the curfews in the producing countries and supply issues forced South Korea to cancel the last tender, the country has now issued a new attempt.

Two tenders to be issued

Early next week, the strict curfew imposed in India may be relaxed a litlle. For South Korea, this is the deadline by which interested exporters can register for the new tender. Bid prices will accepted on 16 April. This time, two tenders will be issued over 3,000 metric tonnes of standard quality each. The delivery dates are 10-20 July.

Exporters hold back

Exporters in India continue to hold back. No offers are to be had. Market players, however, expect demand to rise sharply as soon as exports are possible again. Spot market supplies are dwindling in Europe and traders are mainly supplying their contract partners.
