Sesame seeds: new tender announced

NEW DELHI/ABUJA. A new sesame seed tender has already been announced for the coming week and Indian exporters reckon they have a good chance of winning. At the same time, a large part of the crop in Rajasthan shows qualitative deficiencies.

Exporters are confident

In the Indian trade markets, the sesame seeds from the main crop is gradually arriving. However, there are some quality problems here. For example, low and irregular rainfall in the growing regions of Rajasthan has caused about 35-40% of the crop to be of lower quality. Traders and processors therefore want to stock up on sufficient goods in good time, which is currently pushing up prices.
