MANISA. Reports of heavy precipitation in the Turkish cultivation areas for sultanas are circulating on the market; however, many market participants remain rather composed for the time being.

Precarious weather conditions continue
The rainfalls over the last weekend have not had a discernible effect on the 2018 sultana production. Only minor quantities of grapes have been laid out to dry so far. If rainfalls will continue over the coming days, when the sultana production is in full swing, things will become somewhat more critical. Significant surplus production of Thompson sultanas is growing increasingly unlikely due to the risky weather situation.
