MANISA/KAPSTADT. The upcoming elections and the weather will be the most important topics in the Turkish dried fruit market in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, rainfall in South Africa has led to a decline in production.

Deliveries are uninterrupted
Thanks to long-term contracts, more than 5,000 mt of sultanas and raisins are exported from Turkey every week despite the high market prices. The contracts were signed months ago, however, also make the officially quoted export prices appear comparatively cheap. Despite the loss of value of the Turkish currency in 2018, the sultana prices are currently 700-800 EUR/mt more expensive than last year around this time.
