Sultanas: An excellent start to the export season

MANISA. Since the beginning of the season, Turkish dried fruit exporters have raised sultana exports by more than 30% over this time last year. Farmgate prices are said to have stabilised for the time being.

 

US exports down by 44%
Despite the higher price level this season, sultana exports are up 31% to 15,865 mt compared to the same period last year. The uncertain economic situation in Turkey is currently stimulating the export market. According to market players, the farmgate prices have stabilised at a level of 9.00-10.00 TRY/kg for the time being, but they also forecast significantly higher prices for prompt deliveries from January 2019.
