MANISA. The war in Ukraine, the global economic crisis and higher production in competing growing countries have caused exports of Turkey's popular sultaniye grapes to drop significantly. Sultana exports, however, are still respectable.

Growers hope for snowfall

The head of the Sarıgöl District Agriculture and Forestry Office, Ahmet Akar, declared the last harvest of fresh grapes of 2022 completed last week. The Sarıgöl Plain in the Manisa Province grows globally popular seedless grapes, of which 240,000 mt were harvested this season. Temperatures in the growing areas are in line with average values, but there is a lack of rain. However, snowfall is forecast for the coming weeks, which is welcomed by the farmers.
