MANISA. Turkish sultana growers must take precautions to protect their vineyards from the potential consequences of the forecast rainfall. Weekly exports are going relatively well.

Rainfall expected

As expected, temperatures in the Turkish province of Manisa climbed over the course of last week. However, the national weather service is forecasting slightly cooler temperatures for the coming days, with rain showers expected from the middle of the week. According to market players, the vineyards remain in very good condition; however, growers should hurry to apply pesticides before it starts to rain to prevent plant diseases that can arise from high humidity.

Commodity prices have fallen slightly this week and stand at TRY 85–90/kg
