MANISA. So far, market players in Manisa are reporting good conditions for the vines, but it is still too early to make any statements about the next season. Commodity prices on the Turkish market have risen since last week.

Hardly any organic produce left

Compared to last week, the commodity prices for Turkish sultanas, no 8 and no 9 have risen slightly and are currently at TRY 59-65/kg, Thompson sultanas cost TRY 65-70/kg. Organic goods are very rare and are traded at a minimum of TRY 85/kg. Export prices have remained largely stable, however, with only variety no 9 falling slightly to USD 2.35-2.50/kg FOB Mersin for prompt shipments this week. Buyers have to pay a whopping USD 4.00/kg FOB for organic sultanas.
