MANISA. High temperatures and hail showers characterised the weather in the Turkish province of Manisa last week. Growers continue to hold back their raw materials and market players are not ruling out further price increases.

Hail causes minor damage

The Turkish dried fruit trade is off to a slow start in the new working week after the Feast of Sacrifice celebrations. Market players reckon that the coming days are likely to remain largely quiet.

Despite temperatures of up to 37°C, there were occasional hail showers in the Turkish province of Manisa last week. In Sarıgöl, the main growing region for Turkish table grapes, this led to slight damage to the vines. Similar temperatures are also expected this week for the time being, although it is expected to cool down to 33&
