MANISA. The INC expects the global production of dried grapes to be significantly higher than in 2017/18. High demand and the decline in production in Turkey are, however, driving up prices.

Australia increases imports by 63%

In the first two months of the season, Turkey has exported 68,660 mt of sultanas, 9.4% more than last year. Many large consumer countries, such as the UK and the Netherlands, have imported more than last year. Exports to non-EU countries are also very good. Exports to Australia have risen by almost two thirds over last year. The country currently ranks fifth among the top importers for sultanas from Turkey. Shipments to Asia have also risen by two thirds.
