Sultanas: organic prices still to peak

MANISA. Tariş only recently lifted the pruchasing bids for dried figs. Now the producers' organisation has done the same for seedless raisins. This has impacted export prices.

Tariş lifts purchasing bids

As bad yields are making life really difficult for sultana producers in Turkey Tariş has now stepped in to provide a little bit of support. Producers are now able to sell type 7 sultanas to the organisation for TRY 50/kg instead of TRY 45/kg, type 9 for TRY 55-58/kg and type 10 for TRY 58-62/kg. Producers would, however, prefer to see prices of at least TRY 70/kg. While Tariş has turned its attention on the producers, it remains to be seen what effect these new offers will have on export demand. Final results will emerge in Januar
