MANISA. The price-performance-ratio of the Turkish sultana raisin market still does not meet the wishes of farmers and traders. Reports on possibly record-breaking table grape exports fuel price developments.

Exporters struggle

Since the beginning of the season, Turkish suppliers of dried fruit have exported 2,000 mt less sultana raisins as compared to last year. Things are looking different regarding fresh grapes. Due to the improved trade relations with Russia, deliveries of table grapes were doubled to 254,000 mt in 2017. Further important customers are the Ukraine, Poland and Germany.
