MANISA. Traders in Turkey report that the farmers are mainly refusing to sell. Market activities remain largely subdued. Although the exporters have responded to the present market situation, they are failing to attract buyers.

Cheaper alternatives

Traders reckon that the arrivals will increase over the next few weeks. Meanwhile, the exporters are offering nominally cheaper rates for type 8 and type 9 sultanas. Market players, nevertheless, report that sales are slow. Problem is that the prices on offer in other countries are more attractive for buyers.
