Sultanas: rising demand in the Far East

MANISA. The dried fruit market in Turkey is profitings from the trade conflict between China and the USA.

Average prices are higher than last year

Market players reckon that China, despite its own production, might be an interesting export market for raisins from Turkey due to the increasing demand. Last week, 5,620 metric tonnes of sultanas and raisins were shipped overseas, which are about 150 metric tonnes less than this time last year. At the same time, the average export price of USD 2,160 per metric tonne ranges almost USD 250 higher than last year. A total of 84,3436 mt have been exported since the beginning of the season.
