Sultanas: Speculators yearn for frost

MANISA. Turkish dry fruit market participants are expecting frost over the coming days; some with dread, others couldn’t be happier. Either way, there might finally be a reason for a significant price increase.

Export volume amounts to 5,000 mt
Over the last weeks, Turkish distributors exported just short of 5,000 mt of sultanas, this puts the total export volume since the beginning of the season to more than 150,000 mt. With Ramadan set to begin shortly, Turkish demand has also been good.
