Sultanas: TMO purchases cause export prices to rise

MANISA. Last Friday, the TMO unexpectedly announced its purchase prices for sultanas from the 2025 crop. Lower yields are also causing prices for table grapes to increase. Exports have fallen by almost 40% compared to last year.

Growers are offered alternatives

Last Friday, the TMO made a surprise announcement that it would be purchasing sultanas again this year. Since 22 September, growers have been able to bring their raw materials to the warehouses of the state organisation. TMO's bid prices are in line with those of the TARİŞ, so there is no competition here, only more opportunities for sultana farmers.

Last week, commodity prices briefly fell to TRY 95/kg, but with the TMO's announcement, prices shot up to TRY 110-115/kg, with raw material prices for organic sultanas hovering
