MANISA. Buyers are a bit disappointed as the TMO is not sellling any type 9 sultanas at present. Persistant spring weather conditions may spell trouble for the crop in Turkey.

Spring temperatures

Mild spring temperatures prevailed for a long time in Turkey this year. Cold spells and concerns over hailstorms also stirred some panic in the market. Fortunately, extensive damages did not occur. Cloudy conditions with occassional rains prevail. This has not impacted the grapes in Manisa so far and production is estimated at 300,000 mt. First quotes range
