MANISA. The TMO has largely stopped purchasing raw materials. Overseas demand shows little sign of improvement, while sultana prices have stabilised for the time being.

Trade remains weak

At the beginning of last week, market players were still speculating that the TMO would continue to purchase raw materials until the end of the year. On Thursday, news came that the state organisation would stop its purchases on 18 October, with only the purchasing centres in Salihli and Alaşehir continuing to operate until the end of the year. To date, the TMO is estimated to have purchased 6,000 mt of sultanas, while Tariş' purchases are said to amount to 20,000 mt.
