MANISA. Record volumes are being traded at the Izmir Commodity Exchange this week. Not even the weakening of the Turkish lira has prevented prices from rising. Suppliers in Turkey also has problems competing with other producing countries.

As much as 630 metric tonnes traded in one day

On Monday, as much as 630 metric tonnes of sultanas and raisins were traded on the Izmir Commodity Exchange. This is an absolute record. Although exports are performing well, shipments still range below last year's volumes at 44,635 metric tonnes.
