Sultanas: Turkey is not afraid of the competition

MANISA. The Turkish sultana industry wants to start the new season with a considerably higher price level, while competing growing countries are all expecting an increase in production.

 

A season with strong sales
According to reports, raw goods are no longer available in the free market. The Since 325,000 mt of dried grapes were registered with the stock market, experts are estimating the 2018/19 production at 330,000-340,000 mt, as opposed to the INC estimate of 310,000 mt. So far, 221,219 mt of sultanas have been shipped abroad. In considering domestic consumption as well, hardly any carry-over stocks should be available at the end of the season.
